Defy Gravity with Sleeve Petticoats!
Need some gravity defying sleeves? Then you need sleeve petticoats! Did I mean for this to sound like an infomercial? No. Am I rolling with it? Yes!
In this tutorial I’ll go over how to get that anime-poof into your sleeves in a snap! This technique is basic enough for even those relatively new to sewing. As always, feel free to drop a comment with any questions!

A tour of my dice collection!

I just love dice, so I decided to go through my dice collection on video! Dunno if any other dice-lovers would want to watch this, but you can see some sets up close! At the end of the video I take some of them outside so you can truly appreciate the sparkle. Featured Sets: HD Dais (I'm going to use the names Kraken Dice uses, since that's what I'm familiar with, but you can buy these lots of p...

    Good explanation it really looks like inside out rumba sleeves to me. If so fishing line will give them great structure and lift as well right?

    • @RENNAgadeCosplay
      @RENNAgadeCosplay 4 місяці тому

      I suppose! I’ve never needed to add fishing line to get the effect I’m looking for, but if you need something more structured that or horsehair braid would probably work!

    • @kalka1l
      @kalka1l 4 місяці тому

      @@RENNAgadeCosplay Oh your structure looks solid for sure! Just thinking of the weight of sleeves and whether organza would flatten over time (I’m talking years here). Thank you for the tutorial and it definitely prompted a follow.

      @@kalka1l gotcha! that’s why I prefer organza to tulle. Organza is much more resilient. I have organza petticoats that have maintained their shape for many years!

    I love this idea. Just an FYI. I found out last week that I could use my serger to create ruffles at the same time as I am overlocking the seams. I’ve had it for a few years. Wish I would have known this sooner.

    Thanks, Ive been working on a Boba Fett cosplay, messed up on adding in some black for damage on the dome of my helmet in the final painting stages, so this is perfect for me, and lets me keep the spray paint, and keep the black acrylic on the cheeks safe. Thanks so much, this saved me literally about 50-100 hours of work or masking, painting, and tons more. Also great for weathering my replacement blaster when I replace my cheap one when Im able to.

      The thumbnail is of my Midna cosplay, which was already completed at the time of this video. So I demonstrated with the costume I was making at the time, which is a less complicated one. Kinda hard to take your “great job” seriously when you are calling one of my costumes garbage…

    This was definitely the instruction I was looking for before trying out foam PVC. Thank you! Now you've got me wondering about using it with a vacuum table. Just as an interesting aside, historical armorers working steel sheet into a hole like this call it 'dishing'. Not quite the same, but similar.
